Based in Dandenong South, DEUTZ Australia is one of the worlds major independent manufacturers of diesel engines and natural gas engines for industrial, mining, marine, energy and agricultural purposes, as well as spare parts and service for all DEUTZ engine products.

An exciting opportunity now presents itself for an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager Off Grid Battery Storage Systems.  

This newly created role is pivotal to the business, and reports to the Managing Director.  There will be the occasional need to travel overseas.  Whilst the Head Office is based in Melbourne, we encourage applications from all States of Australia.

The role offers you a chance to be working in an up-to-date modern facility, together with an inclusive and social team who promote a work-life balance culture. 

Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and implement the business strategy to enter and buildup Battery Storage Product Sales within the region
Develop new channels to market for the DEUTZ battery system products
Establish market share within battery storage industry
Establish business relationships with new OEMs
Be the Technical Product Champion and offer technical support to external and internal customers
Increase presence in active markets by way of attending and working key industry events and exhibitions
Develop advertising and marketing strategies & campaigns
Collate competitor data to ensure DEUTZ remain competitive within our target markets
Maintain a good working relationship with manufacturer

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess

SAA Design accreditation for off grid battery systems 
Proven Technical Sales Background 
Technical Knowledge of off grid battery systems
DEUTZ Product Knowledge/Training advantageous
Strategic Thinker with short, medium & long term planning mindset.
Technical Sales Experience in Off Grid Battery Systems for Mining, Agriculture and Construction sectors
Business Acumen / Commercial Experience
Quotation & Tender Preparation & Costing Experience
Advanced Level in MS Office & Systems
Define & implement strategies to grow the business & meet targets
Motivator To All stakeholders
Team Player but with ability to work autonomously
Advanced Communications Skills Both Written & Verbal 
Problem Solving & Prompt Issue Resolution Mindset
Flexible and Open to Change 
Maintain Customer Service Focus At All Times
Maintaining Relationships With Internal & External Stakeholders
Ability to quickly establish and maintain a rapport with internal and external stakeholders
