IT Infrastructure Technician

Dandenong South

The IT Infrastructure Technician will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Wurth's IT infrastructure with emphasis on network and communication systems. You will also be responsible for the reliability, performance, and security of the company's infrastructure components to ensure maximum uptime and business continuity.

Reporting to IT Service Desk Manager and IT Operations, your Responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Managing and applying updates for infrastructure components, including LAN, WAN, servers, switches, routers, and network-attached devices to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Regularly patching systems, software, and firmware to address vulnerabilities and maintain system integrity.
  • Continuously monitoring the company's infrastructure to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • Developing and maintaining accurate documentation, diagrams, and procedures to support infrastructure operations and projects.
  • Assisting in the design, deployment, and management of the company's infrastructure, including overseeing the health of the endpoint fleet.
  • Providing technical support to resolve ongoing issues related to infrastructure components and ensuring prompt responses to support calls and Service Desk tickets.
  • Diagnosing and resolving operating system, endpoint, server, and networking issues (Microsoft Windows / Mac OSX) to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders, including local and global partners, and participating in infrastructure projects such as server, storage, and virtualization initiatives.
  • Coordinating with third-party support and vendors to resolve issues and implement solutions effectively.
  • Conducting asset audits and assisting in the creation and updating of Service Desk procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

  • Relevant IT qualifications and/or industry experience ITIL certification would be advantageous
  • Tertiary qualification in Technology discipline or relevant industry experience
  • Great organisational and time management skills
  • Operating system knowledge including Windows and IOS
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Microsoft Office suite of products knowledge
