The Role
Working along side our fast-paced Human
Capital Department, you will utilise your WHS experience and
qualifications to support our business nationally, providing advice to our on
road sales and management teams, internal departments and our 3 distribution
centres located in Dandenong, Ormeau and Balcatta.
Reporting to the Human Capital Manager, your key
responsibilities will include:
- Perform generalist WHS tasks
to ensure compliance with Australian workplace laws and alignment with
organizational goals
- Provide high quality WHS
advice, support and guidance to management and employees to assist them
meeting their respective responsibilities under relevant WHS legislation
and company requirements.
- Develop and manage health
and safety policies and procedures and provide support to line managers to
ensure appropriate safety compliance checks and analysis are conducted
- Coach and mentor WHS team,
HSRs and Business Improvement Team (BIT) members and lead BIT meetings
- Report and present to
management and other stakeholders on WHS data
- Develop and maintain all
aspects of the WHS system, including but not limited to hazard and risk
identification, record retention and control, audits and continuous
improvement
- Lead end to end injury
management and early injury intervention processes
- Conducting internal
investigations including in relation to WHS incidents and near misses
- Manage emergency response
procedures at all sites
- Identify, develop and
implement WHS training programs for management and staff consistent with
their WHS responsibilities,
- Ensuring compliance with
dangerous goods storage and licensing requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Formal qualifications in WHS
and certified Return to Work Coordinator
- Sound knowledge of
applicable Australian WHS legislation, codes of practice and International
Standards.
- An ability to collaborate,
influence and build relationships to motivate and educate shareholders.
- Excellent and well-developed
interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communication skills
- Proven research and systems
development skills
- Ability to develop and
deliver new training programs in line with stakeholder needs.
- Demonstrated project
management and planning skills
- Demonstrated stakeholder management
experience with high level problem-solving skills and the ability to think
flexibly to develop solutions to meet business needs
